I'm a tutor based in Phoenix, Arizona, who enjoy reading, crafting, and scrapbooking when I'm not working with students. I have my bachelor's degree in biology from Chadron State College in Nebraska. I've also spent 50+ hours of graduate school work in special education at the University of Wyoming and the University of Northern Colorado. I've spent 35 years working in a classroom and have developed many strategies that promote student success during that time. 25 of my years in the classroom have been spent in special education, so I am able to serve all students as a tutor. Generally, I focus my tutoring services on sciences at the high school and college level. As a tutor, I find it's extremely important to help younger students with their study skills and time management. I believe that if you can teach a student the best, most efficient way to study, then they'll ultimately be more successful as a student generally, not just the one class they currently need help with. I take the needs of each individual student into account when crafting a customized tutoring plan for them. Some students learn differently than others, which is a fact that I make sure I pay attention to when deciding how best to proceed with my tutoring sessions.
